Spring is a fun, festive time to be in Park City. Everyone is excited about the longer days and Utah sunshine. This is the time of year for late morning corn skiing, and afternoons spent relaxing on sunny ski beaches with beautiful mountain views. If you’re around this time of year, you will find ample opportunities to enjoy live music, theme-parties, and getting weird with the locals.
In addition to the events below, you can also find complimentary afternoon treats at the Mountain Village (Main Base) and Canyons Village. At the Mountain Village (Main Base), you can find complimentary s’mores at the S’mores Shack in Eagle Plaza every Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM. If you are over at Canyons Village, don’t miss the signature Orange Bubble Bites (honey-glazed donut bites) served daily at 3:00 PM in the Forum.

April 1 | Clown Day: A Colorful Park City Tradition
Since the 1970s, every April 1st, the mountain transforms into a parade of personality as skiers and riders dress up in creative, quirky, and outlandish costumes. From vintage ski gear to elaborate character costumes, Clown Day celebrates uninhibited self-expression.
You might witness someone carving turns in a full-body animal costume, spot a group in coordinated retro onesies, or even encounter someone doing tricks in a mankini. The atmosphere is decidedly lighthearted, with parties happening on and off mountain.
When the lifts close for the day, the party continues at the base. The Corner Store (just a few doors down from Park City Sport) is a popular gathering place on the Main Plaza at Park City Resort Village. In prior years they have had live music and often a mechanical bull.
You can always find a quick last minute costume on Amazon to join in the fun. Though whether you choose to participate or not, April 1st is always a great day for people watching.
If you’re into history, check out this post by Park City Museum that talks about the raucous origins of Clown Day.
Date: Wednesday, April 1, 2026
Time: All day
Location: Park City Resort
April 11 | Pond Skim: A Crowd Pleasing Event
Pond skim is a Park City favorite! This popular event is essentially a hilarious water-crossing challenge where skiers and snowboarders attempt to skim across the top of a 100 feet long (give or take) man-made pond in costumes. Some will amaze the crowd with an effortless glide over the frigid water, while others will splash and crash in spectacular fashion.
Head over early to find a good vantage point and join the festivities. There will likely be music, food, and drinks.
Date: Saturday, April 11, 2026
Time: 11am to 3:15pm, first splash at noon
Location: Eagle Super Pond – at the base of the Eagle Chairlift
How to get there: It’s at the main base, and easily accessible from the parking lot or the village. If you’re on the mountain, you can ski or board down to the location.
How to participate: The Eagle Pond Skim is typically limited to around 100 people not terrified of freezing water. Registration will open in early April, and spots can fill up quickly. Check Park City Mountain’s website for more info.
The date can change due to weather, so keep an eye on it.
